Childs Pose

Balasana

(bah-LAHS-anna)

  • Child’s pose is a resting pose and a gentle forwrd bend.
  • Inhale, kneel up on the floor with your knees about hip width aprart.
  • Exhale, lower the chest to rest on the thighs with the hips resting on the legs.
  • Allow the head to lower bringing in the chin to extend the back of the neck.
  • Openning the legs may allow you to settle lower and into a more comfortable position.
  • Allow the sacrum to relax and open.
  • Rest the habds back along the body allowing the shoulders to open.
  • To come out of the pose, Inhale straighten the spine and lifting from the lower spine, holding firm in the core, raise the torso.
  • Hold pose 3 to 5 breaths or as long as comfortable.
